Dynamic violin and guitar duo Redmond O'Toole and Elizabeth Cooney, bring a broad range of classical repertoire and performing experience to their exquisite performances. Redmond O'Toole has emerged as one of the most innovative and exciting young guitarists in Europe whilst Elizabeth Cooney is a regular soloist with both the national symphony orchestra and the Ulster orchestra. Gwendolyn & Friends

As Artistic Director of this year's Festival, Gwendolyn Masin has invited some of Ireland's best-known musicians for a spectacular musical performance, which encompasses a range of musical genres including Irish Traditional Music, Klezmer, Hungarian Folk and music from the Balkans region. Artists performing on the night include Yurodny, a widely acclaimed instrumental nonet led by saxophonist Nick Roth. The group artistingly incorporates nationalistic musical cultures, with the result being a wonderful performance that encompasses genres from Irish Traditional to Hungarian Folk. Flautist and composer, Emer Mayock, will perform as part of the brilliant, internationally renowned musical quintet, Tarab. The group is made up of Mayock, Donal Siggins (guitar), Robbie Harris (percussion), Francesco Turrisi (percussion, accordion, piano) and Kate Ellis (cello) and performs a diverse range of melodies, from Irish folk to Mediterranean drums. |

| Handel's Xerxes and Opera Theatre Company's Young Associate Artists Performance |
No Carrick Water Music Festival would be complete without the coup de grace of an opera! This year, to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Handel, a performance of one of his best known works, "Xerxes", promises to enthral and wow in equal measures. Like any opera evening, this particular piece deals with horific death, consuming love, and brutal jealousy. OTC's Artistic Director, Annilese Misskimon, will be there to share trade secrets....stories behgind the plots, secret love life of the great composer as well as backstage dramas behind the scenes! A wonderful evening in store and again, early booking is advised. |

| Shona Kipling and Damien O'Kane |
This extrmely talented instrumental and vocal duo play an array of traditional and self-penned tunes and songs influenced, by and large, by Irish traditional music culture. Shona is one of the leading piano accordionists in the country whilst Damien is an outstanding banjo player, tenor and guitarist. A vibrant, thrilling act well worth seeing! |

| Solstice |
The Solstice Trio was founded in 2007 and is comprised of three exceptional musical talents, Ephrem Feeley (piano & baritone), David Burke (piano) and Giovanna Feeley (soprano). Specialising in the composition and performance of works by Feeley, Britten, Ireland and Finzi, their music is then injected with poetic texts by Shakespeare, Tennyson and Yeats to give a thoroughly uplifting and unique musical experience. |

| Vladimir Jablokov and the Slovak Festival Orchestra |
Vladimir is the fourth generation of his family to make a career from music and has, since 1995, performed regularly on concert stages throughout Europe. He formed the Slovak Festival Orchestra in 2006, with the group recording an album a year later. He has performed at Aras an Uachtarain, at the special request of President Mary McAleese. |
